Dwayne Benjamin is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, University of  Toronto. He joined the University of Toronto in 1989 after receiving his PhD from Princeton  University. After serving as the Vice Dean for Graduate Education in the Faculty of Arts &  Science from 2017–2020, he was recently appointed as the Vice Provost, Strategic Enrolment  Management.

Professor Benjamin is an empirical microeconomist with research interests that focus on  the interactions between households and markets, especially labour markets, and the resulting  distribution of economic well-being. His research is grounded in the use of household survey  data and has focused on two main arenas: rural areas of developing countries and contemporary Canadian labour markets.
